One More Latest Dental Technology: Sleep Denistry

Because of the anxieties that people are experiencing when going to a dentist’s clinic to have their tooth pulled, dentists themselves have come up with the latest technologies or procedures to assure patients that their next trip to their clinic and sitting on their dentist’s chair and opening their mouths will be lesser painful or no pain at all. They have come p with two which are called laser dentistry and sleep denistry. Among the two, sleep dentistry is the most sought-after. The laser procedure can be less painful but the sleep procedure can be no pain at all. Patients are sedated to be able to fall asleep and when they finally wake up, they will be surprised that the whole procedure is already finished. This is good for people who don’t want to smell the dental filling, who don’t want the sound of a dental drilling penetrating the enamel or the gums.

So, how does the dentist perform sleep denistry on his patients? Does that mean that the patient is totally asleep while his tooth is being extracted? Can he feel anything or not during the entire dental procedure? First of all, the patient will be sedated just enough to be unaware of the treatment and he can feel as if he was just sleeping. Once the operation is finished, you will wake up refreshed and you will have little or no memory at all of what has transpired during the dental procedure. The dentist still uses the traditional way of, say, extracting a tooth, but you won’t feel any pain and you will never hear or feel or smell any dental drillings whatsoever. The best part is, laser denistry is so accurate that the healthy surrounding tissues will never get damaged during the operation and the over-all procedure can be done faster compared to the traditional procedures.

Because you are completely comfortable, dentist can do years of dental treatments in one or two visits. They can replace crowns or dentures, restore sore gums to good health, whiten yellow or stained teeth, fix a chipped tooth, and more. People with very busy schedules can get the dental care they need, easily and quickly. With sleep denistry, you don’t even have to go to a doctor first thing to let him determine if you are qualified for such procedure or not. Without sleep denistry, the doctor will see if you have some underlying disease like heart problems or hypertension. Remember how your mouth was full of blood when you last visited your dentist for a tooth extraction? And furthermore, the healing period can be faster than ever before.

What’s The Latest Technology In the World Of Denistry?

The fact is, a lot of people are afraid of dentists. Well, actually, it’s not the dentist that they are afraid of but the way the dentists will pull out their teeth or do any kind of dental procedures. Even the bravest of all soldiers can develop a phobia or fear of dentists because of this. That’s why in the world of denistry, dentists have gathered their heads to come up with other alternatives to make tooth-pulling an enjoyable (sic) and pain-free procedure. Well, what have they come up with lately? Actually, this procedure is already in existence for so long now but only few dentists ever offer it to their patients because of financial constraints on the part of the patients themselves

What I am talking about here is the use of laser in the world of denistry. We all know that ever since laser was commercially used for a lot of things, it made things life easier and, well, yes, painless when it comes to medical terms. For so long now, laser has been used for surgical procedures. In the world of denistry, laser is now accepted as one of the better, if not best, alternative to perform dental procedures like extraction of tooth or alignment of teeth. With laser, everything seems to be perfect, almost painless and with lesser blood. I can remember one time when my grandmother went to her dentist to have her tooth pulled. Since she was diabetic, it is not right for her to undergo any type of surgical procedures even minor ones like tooth extraction. But the dentist gave her the idea to use laser denistry so that there will be lesser blood. She sought first the advice of her doctor. Since her health problem is not that fatal compared to other diabetic patients (she has only type II diabetes), the doctor agreed for a dental procedure using laser. Well, things are very convenient for her as the extraction of her tooth was successful, almost painless and with pinpoint accuracy. With the use of laser in the field of denistry, the operation is accurate and that means, a dentist can avoid damaging the surrounding healthy tissues on the affected area.

I’m afraid of dentists and I don’t deny that. If you asked me, the last time I went to the dentist was 10 years ago. But now, I’m primed and ready and not afraid to go to him anymore because I know when I need to undergo any dental procedures, it would be almost painless because of the use of laser. Well, laser procedure can be quite expensive but there is nothing compared to having a peace of mind while sitting for minutes on a dentist chair without feeling any pain.
